Not put away... Not being played... Still listening.
My first bass guitar. Purchased back in 1978, a Japanese no-name brand. It was what I played my first time playing in public. I sold it to a friend around 1979/80, who gifted it back to me 30+ years later. There's some mojo here for sure.
This is an analog photo, taken on my Nikon FM2, which I've owned for about 45 years. I recently finished a 36 exposure roll of film, this was on it. Probably taken between 2022 and 2026, probably the Mississippi River between Alton and Grafton, IL. But not sure.

There's usually interesting things to see at the edges of life. This photo was taken in shallow water along the edge of the reservoir at Silver Lake Park, just a couple of inches of water. I liked how the mud was emphasizing the lines of the big leaf, but well on the wat to erasing the smaller.
The Marsh Walk at Watershed Nature Center, on a cold and dreary day. Calm and quiet, if a bit cold. Spring seems far away on this day.

I'm often drawn to shadow and light, ofttimes with a graphic, or abstract feel. Kind of like this one! Tempting to go full b&w here, but I decided I like the warm, late afternoon light.
Single digit temperatures (F) and windy. So yes, the lake is frozen. Drost Park, Maryville, IL.

At a niece's wedding a while back, they had several live orchids around, and somehow my wife ended up with one of them. Somewhat surprisingly, we haven't managed to kill it yet. But we'll keep trying!
Since 2012, this blog has been devoted to my black and white photography. My color photography has been relegated to LSquared Imaging, which also includes a lot of musings and other non-photography "stuff". But, I've decided to try a shift: not limit this to B&W, but limit it to only the best from all aspects of my photography. LSquared Imaging will continue, and will continue to be eclectic, and will continue to feature photography. More discussions, discussion of techniques, before-and-after. And music, quotes and whatever else.
